Vishu Festival 2012


Vishu festival is coming on 14th APR 2012

Vishu is the one most important festival of Kerala. Vishu Kani is celebrated by Kerala people with lot of joy and mirth. Vishu festival is also called as the feasting day. Sakkarai Pongal

Hi Friends,

Wish you all a very Happy Pongal.

Traditional Sakkarai pongal. Prepare and Enjoy with your family and friends!!!

Sakkarai Pongal Ingredients:

Rice - 1 cup
Moong dal - 1/4 cup
Milk - 2 cups
Cashew - 10
Raisins - 10
Cardamom powder - 1/4 tsp
Jaggery ( powdered ) - 1 1/2 cups
Edible camphor - a pinch
Ghee - as needed

Sakkarai Pongal Preparation Method:

Step 1:  Fry Moong Dal
Step 2:  Cook rice & fried Moong dhal with 3 cups of water.
Step 3:  Use a separate pan add jaggery with 1/4 cup of water, allow it to boil till the jaggery melts.
Step 4:  Add the cooked rice into this and mix well.
Step 5:  Heat ghee in a pan. Add cashew, raisins, fry and add to the pongal
Step 6:  Mix well for 2 min on stove and turn off.
